Covehithe Church (1983 by John Piper)

It was painted by John Egerton Christmas Piper (1903–1992). He was an English painter, printmaker and also designer of stained-glass window.

The painting reflects the knowledge of architecture he had built up over his lifetime where he was aware of the existence of this quite remote church and also he understood how to convey its particular character. He was 80 years old when he painted the church. The painting was done in1983, oil on canvas, 86.3 x 111.8 cm.
